While I was in the middle of working on drawing a dragon for Cory's step-son, someone else wanted me to do a drawing. I work on my shift at the Silverdale hotel, someone I work in the kitchen named Nadia wanted a drawing. When she asked me, I thought at first what Nadia wanted was for her child but it's for her instead. What Nadia wanted was something strange (from Mythology, science fiction or fantasy), I wasn't sure what kind of strange she was looking for, but when I'd some time for myself she saw me working on the drawing I was doing for Cory's step-son, so Nadia asked me to do something similar to the drawing I was on. When I was finished with that drawing, I went straight to work on the drawing for her and I found an image which I think would make a challenge to try. Image of the Dragon: Why I think in trying to draw from this image that it's all in bold colours, with no out lines and tonal/shading in the dragon and figures (at the bottom of the image). Photos of progress: This project took me over a week, with all the spare time I had from anything else. I think Nadia is going to love with what I got for her. But first, I have one more surprise to go with the drawing... The Final Drawing of the Dragon:

It's has been a busy and crazy summer, I've been working around the clock on my work shifts and helping my parents in tidying the driveway and garden (including painting anything that was made of wood) for a friend whose wedding "believe it or not", is taking place at my home. A few months before the wedding event took place my friend Cory and his eight year old, step-son Harry have both been asking me to drawing a dragon. When I was free from work and other drawings I'd work on I asked Harry on what kind of dragon is he looking for and he said he's looking for a dragon coloured blue with blue flames out of it's mouth. With that in mind I get started on the drawing. Photos in Progress: I took a lot of thought and looking for what kind of dragon I use to draw, and then I remembered something, in the famous tv program "Game of Thrones", there were three dragon through the entire series hatching from well good-sized eggs, to fully grown monsters, till near the end of the series one of them was killed and part of the army of the dead. So that is what I referenced from along with the house sigil from the same tv program (the three-headed Dragon, of House Targaryen). The final drawing of the Three-headed, Undead Dragon: This took a lot of spare time and a lot of effort in getting the drawing as I can for Harry to have, what took like-forever was the amount of snow falling around the dragon (to make sure that they're visibly white to see) and what was a little tricky was in order to make this dragon look an undead dragon, I had to draw from head to tail of several open wounds, boned ribs showing and an eye socket sticking out in one of the three-headed dragon. During the wedding after the ceremony and buffet meal, I went to give the drawing to Harry (with Cory and his new wife's blessing). Harry was so happy and having the best day of his life from getting what he wanted.
Yesterday at next shift at work, I asked my boss Tony where would displaying at either it's somewhere at the hotel or in his home. He told me, he'll be giving the drawing to his grand-daughter.
Happy as he is for me to finally to do this drawing, but I his grand-daughter is going to be please for when she sees this. At the end of my first year at university, I did a drawing for a friend and flatmate as a birthday present for her boyfriend. But when I was getting ready for my second year sharing a house with her and another friend, sadly to hear that they broke up and the drawing was still with her, so I kindly took the drawing away for her. Previous Drawing of King of the Dragons: I saved a few copies of them for short time, before I went back to university at that time my boss Tony in Arnside, liked what I done this and asked if he can have. I said, "When I get the chance, I get a copy for you". But after I learned that my friend from uni has broken up with her boyfriend, I couldn't get a copy for my boss. After a year of finishing uni I got the chance to a drawing for him but in composition then the previous drawing. Reference of images from the drawing: I could say I copied it from a Game of Thrones series, perhaps it is but the dragon, the knight, the title and background was drawn and created in my own point of view. Progress of the drawing: Final Drawing Design: As soon as I got the drawing done, I took the work to a framing shop along with another drawing to get them framed. When the framing was done, that afternoon, I took the work to my boss on the way home and he very please to finally have the work.
He'll probably display it somewhere in his hotel, or the house he's live in, either way I would love to see it hanging on the wall soon. |
