For the start of my first year, I get to work on the first project at the University of Cumbria. My job is to create a digital magazine. To the work on a digital magazine design I had look back at the places I’ve been from a little trip, of going to Keswick with my tutors and classmates and other places I've been the last time I was there. The idea of this project is putting all the work (drawings and photos) in a ten-page design, so doing this would be a little tricky to get all any artwork and writing in each page. Sadly during the trip, I didn’t take a lot of photos, because my phone ran out of battery very quickly and there were some bad weather. So I had to think on how to create the magazine design a success, so looking back at some of the photos I took from my last visit to Keswick gave me helping hand. For creating a digital magazine, I’ve thought of adding some of the photos I taken from Keswick or from other places I’ve been to would go along with the design like museum artefacts, other people's art work. And in the process, I have thought of adding some comic art, to go with as well. I think it went well with what I have seen during the trip. A week later, I've made some good progress. With some of the rough drawings I've made to use to help get an idea of what to do for the digital magazine design. I get started with some drawings using both pen and pencil, in my sketchbooks. In some of these designs I added in some of the photos in the artwork. After getting the drawings done for each page, I immediately get into photoshop and create a mixed media or drawings, photos and text on each page. When I got the work done on Photoshop, I go straight into Indesign to create my own digital magazine. I had it published it on the website Issuu and presented it to my tutors, they were impressed of how I designed the trip from my last visit to Keswick and comparing it to what it was like from terrible storms and winds, that we'd endured in the trip. My tutors want me to try, and look at what I can improve in the future, that way I could do something like this next time. Ideas and DrawingsRough drawing IdeasDrawings
