This project was about creating, a short film design in whatever Genres I’ve been asked to do and in this project I've been also asked to work with one or two, of my classmates. This way we can help each other from planning more ideas, filming the work and discussing what can we do to make a good video. I was partnered with a girl named Lily, and we got on planning a short thriller film, that was the genre we were asked to create. Taking a little inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock a famous film director, we got planning on a film but we're not allowed to use any knives for filming because people might think we might actually kill someone (a little unfair, but understandable) in public, so we’ll figure something out while creating the scene, but before we did any filming we need to get a camera and a stand so when filming we won’t have our hands shaking holding the camera. Next we did some changes to the storyboard before, similar but in a different. My idea of the storyboard is about someone getting attacked by his friends at university halls and later on the body was discover near a bridge at the banks of a river. Lily shows me her story about someone walking around a library, then someone else come out from behind killing the other person with a book. Looking at both of these storyboards we thought it'll be cool to mix them up using the library scene and the body discovered at the bridge. With that planned out we go into town to take photos of where we will do the filming. We had it all planned out, the only thing we needed was the weather for this to happen, we’ve been looking at the weather very carefully so we could make the film perfect to present. That is how we planned the video design and at the same time me, Lily and all my other classmates have been given another brief as part of the project, which is creating title sequences to go with the video design. With a little more planning and developing on the storyboard, me and Lily get filming on our Thriller video. Before we did any filming, we took some photos of the place to where we were going to do our thriller movie. It took a lot of setting-up the camera, and positioning to get filming right, like where Lily gets to act as the victim and me as the murderer at the one of the bookshops in Carlisle. And filming at a park next the bridge where Lily has her body laying next to a fountain. And one of my friends who I have asked to take part of our movie, as a witness from seeing the body. It also took a lot of time to make a lot of filming at the bookshop, library at the university and at the park for what we wanted. When that was done we got onto premiere pro and after effects apps, creating a video with all the shots we made and creating the title sequences. It was really hard to do because we haven't used these much in any of the projects before, but by working together and getting a lot of help with a tutor David who is a complete expert in filming and video design, we've eventually got to finishing the work. When we showed the work to the rest of our tutors and classmates, they said that we've made some understanding of Alfred Hitchcock. We just need to work on some more audio/sound effects with time, to improve more on how to use premiere pro and after effects in the future. Creating your own video design can come in handy someday.
