This week has been a good one so far, because I did a birthday drawing for someone I work with at the Silverdale hotel. A few months shortly after New Year's Eve events, a staff member named Collette came back from holiday spending time with her grand-children and gave me a little present she won from the arcade she went to, it was a tiny green dinosaur. Colette told me that when she won it, she immediately thought of me because of my love and knowing of dinosaurs, and thought that was very nice of her. So with that generous thought I have decided on creating a new drawing for on her birthday. The idea for her is to create a dinosaur similar to what Colette gave me a while ago. The dinosaur I'm thinking from that little toy is Ornithomimus (a dinosaur that looks exactly like an Ostrich). Before I got started on a drawing, I did some research to look for an image of this dinosaur, the best and a little challenge I find was in a Wild West set. Image of the dinosaur: Photos of Progress: While I was working on the drawing I got a little creative on adding a background to make it more like a western set, I sketched out a desert badlands. The work too longer than I thought it would, but it was worth it in the end. The Final Drawing of Ornithomimus, Dinosaur in the Wild Wild West: After the work is done, I took the drawing to a framing shop in Lancaster to have it framed once that was done I took it to work with to have it ready for Collette's Birthday. When the day of Collette's birthday final came, we were all about to go for a break from working in the kitchen I went to give her birthday present. Happy Birthday Collette: She love the work I made, what I've given her for birthday and she'll be finding a place to hang in her home. Happy 56th Birthday Collette.
