After the Christmas holidays at the same time as I was working on some art projects, I've also been going to live-drawing sessions every week with my classmates. When I was at Kendal College, there were some live-drawing sessions going on, but I didn't go in them because they were for another group of people. This year was an unexpected turn because I'll be doing my artwork of someone live and naked in the middle of the room. The volunteers for these live-drawing session was a man named Nick and a woman named Helen, both nice people. Every week one of them would come after the other. The first drawings I did in the first couple of weeks was using pen and pencil to see how well I could do with my drawings in a very short time.
The first drawings didn't quite go well, because I either got too much detail or shaping and didn't finish the drawings in time. The second week got a little better because I was using charcoal crayon (red, black and white) and I kept going at it for a couple more weeks with more practice in other sessions. The other drawings I did using charcoal crayon either separately or mixed together to make some effect in colour and shading. In one session I used a long stick, attached to the end so I could try to see how well to draw with a stick, they're really tricky to use. I could use this technique again. Other live-drawing sessions were by pen, colouring ink and paint. These sessions were fun to do, one or two I may need to do some practise with the painting, because they're not like drawing pen or pencil. They maybe some more live-drawings in my second, third year or in the future but I will get better with what I learned.
